For its 11th year, Várlak Fesztivál got a full identity refresh: a new palette and a new pattern system, carried from the main poster down to the smallest staff badge.
For the first time, the festival's website and its companion app were designed, coded, and deployed end-to-end by me.
A new palette — cobalt blue, hot pink, red, and blush — paired with a set of jagged, hand-drawn patterns, repeated across posters, badges, and social media.
From staff badges to social posts, the same four colors and patterns hold every touchpoint together.
Rebuilt from scratch for 2026 — hand-coded HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, no framework. A small Neon Postgres database powers the lineup vote that opens each new festival year, protected with Cloudflare Turnstile. Designed, coded, and deployed by me.
A companion app for the festival grounds — installable straight from the browser, no app store required.
It carries the full program, a personal schedule with clash detection, an illustrated site map, and push reminders sent fifteen minutes before each show.
Opens on a countdown to the gates, with the day's weather and lineup — no sign-up, just an anonymous ID created on first launch.
Favorite a show and it lands on a personal schedule — with a warning if two overlap. Built as a PWA with Next.js, React, and TypeScript, on a Postgres database through Drizzle — offline-capable, with MapLibre maps, web push, and a Hungarian/Slovak interface. Designed, coded (with Claude Code), and deployed by me.
